Yes, it's a chain and yes, we all take Mendo's for granted, especially their catering. When an event has Mendo's catering, it's a good event!! I first had Mendo's in 2013 when I worked at a streaming company that catered lunches all the time and 1/3rd of the time it was Mendo's, so I got to try all the sandos. Then, I became a WGAW member and went to WGF events, which were exclusively catered by the Mendo's across the street; the event let the poor writers (me) take home the leftovers. Now, working in higher education, I live for the events that have Mendo's catering and if not, I can just go there myself. In a pinch, Mendo's will always do.
