I loved KIM'S CONVENIENCE, the TV show, and I covered it a lot for the media outlet I worked at in 2019. So when Ins Choi's play that inspired the Canadian/Netflix TV series arrived in LA, I had to go see it. It's very funny (and stood the test of time!), emotional and heartwarming. I laughed, I cried. Highly recommend.
And if you're a fan of the series, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the show retained a lot of elements/plotlines from the play! Jung is a lot different in the play (no spoilers) and the play has a more definitive ending than the series, but that's part of it being a play. It's no wonder it became a beloved TV comedy years later.
FYI, it's about 83 minutes without intermission, but the time flies by. The staging is very creative, too.
